Specialisation in Trauma Therapy
Trauma can profoundly impact one’s life, and addressing it requires specialised care. I have a particular interest in trauma therapy and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a leading, evidence-based approach effective in treating trauma-related conditions. EMDR is also highly effective for addressing:
- Anxiety and panic disorders, including OCD – Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
- Phobias.
- PTSD – Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
- Complex or developmental and childhood trauma.
- Performance blocks or challenges.
- Workplace stress or burnout.
EMDR therapy can be conducted both in-person and online, offering flexibility to suit your needs.
Therapeutic Approaches
My practice integrates various evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including:
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR): A structured approach that helps process and resolve distressing memories and emotions, leading to healing and growth.
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Focusing on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviors.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT): Aiming to promote self-compassion and alleviate self-criticism.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Encouraging acceptance of thoughts and feelings while committing to meaningful actions.
This integrative approach allows me to tailor therapy to each individual’s needs, ensuring the most effective treatment.
Insurance and Professional Standards
I accept most major insurance plans, including AXA, AVIVA, BUPA, and WPA. I hold Professional Indemnity Insurance through Howden, ensuring that my practice adheres to the highest professional standards.
